The Bridge Lake Photo Group, amongst many other things, undertakes three different kinds of photo activities:
- Workshops
- Photo Outings
- Photo Field Trips
Listed below are some examples of each of the above.
Workshops
Historically, the Bridge Lake Photo Group has held dozens of free workshops, instructional sessions, in which members share their specialized knowledge with other members, covering many different photographic subjects (e.g. software, editing, basic skills), or hands on demonstrations on a variety of photographic techniques (e.g. portraiture, studio lighting, intentional camera movement. light painting). Covid forced us to halt. But we have been remiss in restarting post-Covid.
Photo Outings
We use “Photo Outing” to describe a one day visit to a photographically interesting site easily reached by car. Since some of the roads may be challenging, car pooling with appropriate vehicles is usual. Some of our destinations are listed below, many of which will have been visited multiple times.
- Eakin Creek Canyon Provincial Park
- Eakin Creek Road
- Cougar Point
- Farwell Canyon
- Gang Ranch
- Big Bar Lake
- Wells Grey Park – Helmcken Falls, Dawson Falls, Spahats Falls, Sylvia Falls, Goodwin Falls
- Mahood Falls
- Trophy Mountain Wildflower Meadows
Photo Field Trips
A “Photo Field Trip” is usually an eight to twelve day road trip by eight to ten of us.
- Palouse – south-eastern Washington state
- Elkin Creek Guest Ranch and the Nemaiah Valley, Chilcotin
- Haida Gwai – including a zodiac trip to the southern reaches
- Ancient Forest and Mount Robson Area
