This photo makes me smile.
One of the reasons I chose this picture is because it is such a rare thing of nature to see a buck with the fawns.
Ilove the way the buck is looking over the young ones. It generates a feeling of warmth and an idealistic father and kids weekend adventure outing. Larry was able to capture the scene and frame it perfectly within the parameters of the window before the family exited the cabin. How long they were there, I don’t know. This picture conjures up all kinds of scenarios. Is the family out “cabin exploring” checking out possible emergency accommodations in case of a summer thunder and lightning storm? Or are they simply escaping the summer bug population of Montana Lake?
And I love the way the fawns are peeking through the window, not quite tall enough to see over the grass. The young buck is not at all looking out of place. This photo makes one wonder…does the buck accompany the family wherever they go? Do they come to the cabin often? Is he the biological father of the fawns, or maybe just an uncle? This is a photo one can ponder for quite some time.
Thanks Larry for sharing this rare, enchanting picture.
