The scene tells a story revealed by the visual clues: the young calves, the shrub leaves just beginning to emerge, the warm clothing, the faint mist created by the cattle’s warm breath, the slow but steady pace of the riders, dogs and cattle. These cows and calves are being moved to Spring range. A familiar seasonal ranching event perfectly captured.
