Shadows and Silhouettes

The theme for August, 2015 is “Shadows and Silhouettes”.  A Shadow photo is one where the sun is at your rear and the subject blocks the sun’s rays, while a Silhouette photo is one where you are facing the sun with the subject blocking the sun’s rays.

Some further points:

First, because shadows are everywhere, any worthy Shadow photo has to tell something of a story.  That should be easy.

Second, you cannot show a Shadow photo for August’s theme unless you also show a Silhouette photo!  That’s because Shadow photos are easier to make than Silhouettes and monthly themes are all about each of us stretching and expanding our creative and technical abilities.
