The theme for the next BLPG meeting (June 4, 2015) is “Make the Ordinary Look Extraordinary”. You can use any approach you want – lens choice, lighting, coloured or monochrome, editing software, editing choice. The sky is the limit.

Here’s an early example:
Just a yard tap. Aperture chosen to blur the background.
Texture added to enrich the background, but masked from affecting the tap; some Topaz Glow added to the tap to make it look more interesting, but masked so as not to affect the background.
The tap was cut out from the previous background and put onto a new one. The new background was created from two image. The foreground is a meadow whose colours have been manipulated. The sky is from another photo. The horizon line has been blurred to make it seem more natural. The ordinary hydrant tap is starting to look like some alien invader …
Hmmm, I wonder what someone could do with an ordinary kitchen utensil, like a fork …
