We’ve made lots of changes on the Bridge Lake Photo Group website this month.
The most visible change, as you see by the top of this post, is the header. We have swapped out Diane Hopp’s beautiful loon family photo for a perfect seasonal photo of a waterskier by – Diane Hopp. This sets a record – two header images in a row by the same photographer. You’ll have to agree that it’s a wonderfully dynamic photograph and so appropriate for this time of year.
For our home page image, we have chosen a photograph by Diane Sullivan. She has caught the flying pelican on a wings downbeat so the wingtip feathers are delicately upward curled. The bird’s attention is focused ahead as it comes into land behind a companion just out of the picture.
Larry Citra has chosen a new Featured Photo for the month of August, “Two Ducks” at sunset by Glenn McBride. Either a happy accident or the result of careful planning, in any event it’s a beautiful photograph. Be sure to read Larry’s reasons for his choice.
New workshops, themes and field trips are continually coming along, so we’ve changed the menu structure a bit to bundle them all under the main menu heading of Activities. We have just concluded a Light Painting workshop, put on by Doerte Pavlik. You can see some of the photos which resulted by looking at the dropdown list under Activities -> Workshops -> Light Painting.
Also under Activities -> Field Trips you’ll find Eakin Creek Road and a collection of photos captured by Curtis Wolfe which document our June, 2013 field trip up Eakin Creek Road.
And, as usual, we’ve added new images from BLPG members: Rob Tillyer (is that a bobcat or a lynx?), Sue Wolfe, Diane Hopp, Diane Sullivan, Larry Citra and Bill Melnychuk. Check out their pages in the Photographers Showcase to see the additions.
